2024 marks a special year for us at Ink + Wool. We’re stepping into a new chapter focused on giving back and fostering the love of fiber arts and handmade creations within our community. It brings me great joy to introduce the Fidalgo Little Free Fiber Library (FLFF).
What is a Fibrary? It is very much like a library, but instead of just books, the Fibrary will distribute FIBER, tools and instructional books relating to fiber arts. We will stock the shelves with leftover yarn from the items we sell in the shop, knitting and crochet notions, and we hope you will join in the fun by donating what you can (“take a skein, leave a skein”). The FLFF is more than just a collection of fibers, tools, and books—it’s a space where the community can access the materials needed to embark on their own fiber art journey, regardless of experience or background. Access is the name of the game, our hope is that people who may have never thought to try fiber arts will find inspiration within the little walls of the Fibrary.
We invite you to attend the grand launch of the Fidalgo Little Free Fibrary at 2pm on Saturday, March 30th, 2024. This event is not just about unveiling an adorable tiny fiber paradise; it’s about a shared opportunity for all of us to explore the world of fiber arts, to learn, to create, and celebrate the joy that handmade creations bring to our lives.
