Where: Little Cranberry Lake main parking lot
A secret about dragonfly behavior was discovered right here at Little Cranberry Lake by Anacortes resident, physicist, and dragonfly-whisperer James Walker. Join Friends of the Forest to learn more about the dragonflies that call the ACFL home and gain new appreciation for this charismatic family of insects. We’ll let the dragonflies come to us on this “hike” and spend most of our time observing the fascinating dance of the Odonates as they get warmed up and ready for the day.
Please note that this is not a normal Friends of the Forest hike but rather an opportunity to observe some incredible natural phenomena in one location over several hours. You’re more than welcome to drop in and drop out of this program as the lake environment inspires!
