Anacortes Rotary Presents Thriller

October 29, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm

Historic Port Transit Shed

No bones about it! Anacortes Rotary has a Halloween treat in store for you Saturday October 29th at 5:30pm. We’re shaking off the cobwebs, opening the crypt and resurrecting our annual live fall fundraiser after going dark for two years due to the pandemic.

Anacortes Thriller will be a special night of great music that will raise funds for great causes. Carve out some time (we’ll carve out the pumpkins) and get ready to be bewitched and bedazzled by a fall fundraiser like no other.

The focus is on fun, so dust off your broom, get a costume and get ready to swoop down to the Port Transit Shed Event Center for a ghoulish good time on the dance floor with the Chris Eger Band with the Powerhouse Horns. The $120 ticket price includes event entry and dinner; tables are available for 8 to 10 guests.

VIP tickets are also available and include perks such as priority parking, free beer and wine all evening, entry to a raffle to win a Compass Wine Club Membership for a year and more! VIP tickets are $250 each.

We’ve limited the number of auction items to just a few. With your help we can continue to fund scholarships and programs such as the Ready to Learn Fair and the Anacortes Boys and Girls Club.

Our Raise the Paddle this year will support the capstone in our club’s Centennial Project, a new Rotary Viewpoint at the Cap Sante Summit. The vistas found atop Cap Sante are not just good, they are incredible—taking in sweeping views of Anacortes, the surrounding waterways and islands and the green ridges of Anacortes Community Forest Lands. What is missing is a welcoming outlook—accessible for all ages and abilities, a place separated from the crowded parking area, a tranquil space to sit and take in those great views.

To make the experience the best it can be, Anacortes Rotary has been working with the City of Anacortes Parks and Recreation Department on options for this new viewpoint, sited to frame vistas of Mount Baker and its surroundings to the east. In the months ahead, the club also will be working with the City of Anacortes Planning Department on concepts and permits for the project. Donations will be held in a restricted account and refunded if permits are not received.

Earlier this year, the club and the city opened a newly-revitalized trail linking Rotary Park at the bottom to Cap Sante’s rocky headland. The new viewpoint will be a fitting finish for this gem of a park. Your support will make a big difference for local residents and visitors alike as they take in the panoramas from one of our community’s most visited parks.

There’s no escaping it – We’re going to thrill you more!
