Skagit Habitat for Humanity

Chamber Member

In 1994, local citizens formed Skagit Habitat for Humanity. This year, we are celebrating 30 years of building affordable homes with low-income families in our community. We work with in-need Skagit residents to help them build and buy a safe and decent home in which their family may lay down roots.

Through our housing projects like our Homebuyers Program and Habitat Helpers we are building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. In the past we’ve constructed 1-2 homes/year in Skagit County, but due to the current housing situation we have a board-driven vision to exponentially grow our impact. In fiscal year2024, we will have completed 4 new homes and have a goal to reach 15 homes/year by 2028.

Funding for our nonprofit comes from individual and corporate donors, local, state, and federal grants, and from our Habitat Store located in Mount Vernon, which sells lightly used and new furniture, building materials, and other donated housewares.

Please contact us with any inquiries regarding how to contribute with a donation of time and/or funds. Thank you!
