Volunteering with the chamber is a great way to get to know your community! The Chamber provides many different types of opportunities to get involved.

Visitor centers bring great value to their towns. Most visitor centers are run by volunteers who contribute their time, knowledge, and helpful information to those visiting the region or area.

Volunteer at the Visitor Information Center

Visitor centers bring great value to their towns. The Anacortes Visitor’s Center is run by volunteers who contribute their time, knowledge, and helpful information to those visiting the city or surrounding areas. When you walk inside the Anacortes Visitor Information Center, you will see brochures from the floor to the ceiling of trail maps, lists of retail shops, ferry information, and more. You will be greeted by a friendly volunteer who is happy to share their knowledge about this town. This customized service will surely give you the most enjoyable stay or day trip to Anacortes and the San Juan Islands. And for those looking to help themselves, there is a self-serve kiosk!

Not only do the volunteers cover the foundations of the maps, restroom guidance, and fun facts, but you will get to engage with living icons of the area! Our longest serving volunteer and Team Lead, Kay, has been helping the residents and visitors to the city since the ’80s. As Kay puts it, “It’s very rewarding to be around people that are happy and who also love supporting this amazing community.”

Have you ever considered becoming a volunteer for the Visitor Center yourself? Fill out the form below and bring it to our office, or email it to info@anacortes.org. We are always excited to welcome more volunteers to the team, the more the merrier… feel free to invite a friend to volunteer with you!
