The city’s public library is located at 10th and M Street. In addition to an extensive collection spread over two floors, the library boasts a children’s library, state-of-the-art internet access, a variety of free search databases, original art, and a jazz collection. They also offer frequent free music performances and education lectures.

Located in the foyer of the library, the FriendShop sells donated items with all the proceeds earmarked for the purchase of books, children’s programs, and other related items. The Friends of the Library has been in service to the Anacortes Library since 1969. The FriendShop bookstore offers gently used books, CDs and movies for sale, at modest prices. The store is staffed by volunteers. You are invited you to come in and browse. Please call 293-4149 for more information.
