First Friday Art Walk

April 1, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Anacortes, WA

Join us for The First Friday Artwalk on Friday, April 1 from 6pm – 8pm. Check the locations and details below.

404 Commercial Ave., Joanie Schwartz Glass

Joanie Schwartz Glass presents Joanie’s fused glass pieces that are inspired by her desire to infuse the world with light, beauty, hope, and joy, and are created onsite in her open studio. The store showcases a curated collection of artistic treasures created by artisans from around the country, mostly women, many of whom call the PNW home. Take a look at the class schedule and secure a spot in one of her numerous workshops. You’ll get a chance to work with Joanie one-on-one to create your very own masterpiece, even if you’ve never worked with glass before.

419 Commercial Ave., The Majestic Inn and Spa

The Majestic presents acrylics and mixed media work by Dee Doyle. Although she takes loads of photos on hikes and kayak trips, a lot of her representational work is becoming more intuitive and imagined, including some looser, abstract interpretations of landscapes in her mind. The paradigm of “What if” has become an overlay for her art and way of life today. She finds that there are no mistakes in nature’s palette.

420 Commercial Ave., Scott Milo Gallery

Join us for our 6th Annual Tulip Poster Artists, Past and Present Show featuring 2022 poster artist, Jack Gunter, with his Egg Tempera paintings on panel. Also showing are oils by 1998 artist, Alfred Currier, watercolors by 1999 artist, Mary Gregg Byrne, and color photographs by 2000 & 2003 artist, Randy Dana. We will have a new supply of Official Tulip Festival Merchandise and quilts from local quilters.

1010 5th Street, The Studios Above Scott Milo Gallery

Four studios above Scott Milo Gallery are open and include Anders Rodin, Cathy Schoenberg, Michael Clough, and Elizabeth Ockwell. Climb the stairs and see exciting oils, watercolors and drawings, and sculptures.

904 6th Street, 98221 Gallery at City Hall

The 98221 Gallery presented by the Anacortes Arts Commission in City Hall is featuring 36 emerging and established artists who live or work in the 98221 zip code.
