First Four Saturdays in December, 12pm – 4pm

Downtown Horse Drawn Trolley Rides are available for FREE. Get together with a group of friends to enjoy the sights and sounds, as the trolley can hold 18-24 people! Happening Saturdays: December 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd.

Keep the Cheer Here is a way to thank the local community for supporting our businesses throughout the year! It is also one of the biggest Anacortes Shop Local campaigns, to encourage our community to support local merchants and keep their dollars in town. Pick up a punch card by shopping at participating stores between November 19th and December 24th and you will be entered to win weekly and grand prize drawings!

New This Year – join in on the fun across the island with Double Punch Sunday! Get two punches for every $10 you spend.  Shop local and peruse the delights on the island – with twinkling white lights and a crisp feel to the air, you can’t help but feel the magic of the season!

Annual Anacortes Farmers Market Holiday Event (Free!)
Each year, the weekend before Thanksgiving we host this special two-day indoor event at the Port of Anacortes. Our regular season has ended and this is a fabulous opportunity to get your holiday produce, stock up on your favorite vendors’ goods and find that perfect handmade holiday gift. It’s also a great time to check out the cool Port building, have a bite to eat and visit with market friends and win a door prize! Free admittance!
Location: 100 Commercial Avenue at the Port Event Center
Times: 10am-4pm each day

Breakfast With Santa
Anacortes Senior Center
8am – 11am
Come enjoy a hot pancake & sausage breakfast with your family and friends. Santa will be on site for visits and photos. There is a cookie decorating station and some festive holiday entertainment for you to enjoy while you eat your breakfast. $6 per ticket.

Come Celebrate the Season with the Anacortes Schools Foundation at our annual “Dream It” Dinner Auction. Enjoy dinner in the magical holiday village we create inside the Port Event Center. The evening features lots of holiday cheer including great food, a live auction, exciting raffles, entertainment and more. All proceeds support the Anacortes Schools Foundation and its mission to provide student scholarships and educational enrichment to Anacortes students.  Tickets available online at https://www.asfkids.org/

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Come down the Chamber to celebrate the lighting of the Community Christmas Tree.  The town crier, Santa Claus, and students from local Anacortes schools will enrich this celebration with performances.  Free pictures with Santa after the lighting.

Holiday Art Walk
Downtown Anacortes

Following the tree lighting, the public is invited to explore the downtown holiday Art Walk to find locally crafted gifts in local stores and galleries.  Multiple restaurants will be open to grab a hot meal and relax with your friends.

A World Premier written by Bruce Rolfe and Billy Hendricks. The classic Christmas story meets film noir in this fast paced comedy laced with seasonal magic and snappy Raymond Chandler-esqe dialog. It is Christmas Eve 1945 and a severe winter storm has stranded several strangers in a hotel lobby on Chicago’s lower east side. Noel Noir is filled with mysteries and surprises through the final curtain. This show will keep you guessing and laughing as new relationships are born, estranged relationships are mended, and the lessons of sharing and caring are passed on by the Spirit of Christmas. Annual Lions Club Parade
Commercial Avenue
11am – 12 noon
The Anacortes Lion’s Club Christmas Parade starts at 11am. Setup begins at 10am and anyone can participate! Lining up on Third Street, between “O” and Commercial Avenue: floats, vans with passengers, walkers and bicycles. Lining up on Second Street: horses and horse carriages. Lining up on Third Street, between “N” and “O” Avenues: fire department and emergency vehicles. Lining up on Commercial Avenue, next to the rope factory: cars and car club entries.

 

Friday and Saturday, December 7 – 8
Wonderland Walk at Washington Park
5pm – 8 pm
Come take a Walk in the Woods at Washington Park. the Wonderland Walk is a FREE community event that is all about the spirit of the holidays. Various camp sites get decorated by local community members, service groups and businesses. We recommend you carpool to the event and that you bring a flashlight or a head lamp to help guide you to the event.

“Celebrate the Season” holiday activities

The Anacortes Schools Foundation invites families to “Celebrate the Season” on Sat. 12/8 and Sun. 12/9 from noon to 4 PM. We transform the Port Event Center into a magical holiday village that will delight all ages. Come to the Port Event Center after the holiday parade on Saturday to get a photo with Santa, and enjoy live entertainment, cookies and hot cocoa. Rotary’s “Whoville” is also part of the fun and will feature games and crafts. Sunday features Gingerbread all day! Adult and students teams will battle it out, or you can decorate your own mini-house. Admission is FREE.

Bowman Bay Holiday
Deception Pass State Park
4:00pm-8:00pm; $5 suggested donation per car
Celebrate the 4th annual holiday fundraiser at Deception Pass State Park Saturday, December 15th, 2018 at Bowman Bay. Festivities run from 4-8pm. There will be a $5 suggested per car donation. Enjoy hot chocolate, delicious baked goods, see Park cabins lit up, pictures with Santa, Toys for Tots drop off location, write holiday letters to service men and women, and feel warmed by the fire. There will be crafts for the kids and more! Remember to wear warm clothes, rain boots, and to bring a flashlight! This family-friendly event supports and promotes the Deception Pass Park Foundation’s mission of resource protection through education. All money raised goes to the direct benefit and enhancement of educational programs in the Park.
