Downtown Horse Drawn Trolley Rides are available for FREE – get a group of friends and enjoy the sights and sounds together, as the trolley can hold 18-24 people!

Anacortes Coastal Christmas OrnamentNovember 24th – December 24th, 2016

Keep the Cheer Here is a way for us to thank the local community for supporting our businesses throughout the year! It is also one of the biggest Anacortes Shop Local campaigns, to encourage our community to support local merchants and keep their dollars in town.

Pick up a punch card by shopping at participating stores between November 21st and December 24th and you will be entered to win our weekly and grand prize drawings worth over $1,000!

New This Year – join in on the fun across the island with Double Punch Wednesdays, happening December 7th, 14th and 21st. Get two punches for every $10 you spend. Shops will also stay open late, until 7:30pm, on Wednesday the 14th and 21st. Shop local and peruse the delights on the island – with twinkling white lights and a crisp feel to the air, you can’t help but feel the magic of the season!

November 18th & 19thAnacortes Coastal Christmas Ornament
11th Annual Anacortes Farmers Market Holiday Event (Free!)
Each year, the weekend before Thanksgiving we host this special two-day indoor event at the Port of Anacortes. Our regular season has ended and this is a fabulous opportunity to get your holiday produce, stock up on your favorite vendors’ goods and find that perfect handmade holiday gift. It’s also a great time to check out the cool Port building, have a bite to eat and visit with market friends and win a door prize! Free admittance!
Location: 100 Commercial Avenue at the Port Event Center
Times: 10am-4pm each day

December 1st
Annual Chamber Tree Lighting (Free!)
Downtown comes alive with the festival spirit the weekend of December 2nd with the annual Anacortes Chamber of Commerce’s Community Tree Lighting ceremony. The event features the town crier, Santa Claus and performances by students from Anacortes schools. Hot cocoa and cookies will be provided by the Salvation Army. Attendees can also get a free picture with Santa inside of the building.

December 1st
Chamber Holiday Art Walk (Free!)
Following the tree lighting, the public is invited to explore the downtown holiday art-walk to find locally crafted gifts.  Multiple restaurants will be open to grab a hot meal and relax with your friends.

Christmas Parade (Free!)
Sponsored by Lion’s Club. The Anacortes Lion’s Club Christmas Parade starts at 12 noon – setup begins at 11am and anyone can participate! Lining up on Third Street, between “O” and Commercial avenue are floats, vans with passengers, walkers and bicycles. Lining up on Second Street are horses and horse carriages. Lining up on Third Street, between “N” and “O” Avenues are fire department and emergency vehicles. Lining up on Commercial Avenue, next to the rope factory are cars and car club entries.

Celebrate the Season – Opening Day ($5 per person/$20 per family at the door)
Enter a winter wonderland at the Port Transit Event Center with activities for the whole family. This annual event held by the Anacortes Schools Foundation features photos with Santa, hot chocolate & cookies, crafts & games, unique gifts, and gift wrapping. All proceeds benefit students in the Anacortes School District. More information is available at online. On Saturday, stop by after the parade for live entertainment.

Breakfast with Santa ($6)Anacortes Coastal Christmas Ornament
Enjoy a pancake breakfast with the jolly guy himself. Event ticket includes a photo as well. RSVP at 293-1918 or www.cityofanacortes.org

December 2nd
Saint Nicholas Feast Day with the Croatian Cultural Center
• 10:30am – Feast of Saint Nicholas Mass at Saint Mary Church. Entrance procession with icon of St. Nicholas by the members of the Croatian community
• 11:45am – End of Mass; car procession with Saint Nicholas icon to the Seafarers Memorial Park.
• Noon – Assemble at Seafarers Memorial Park for placement of icon and the laying of wreath and roses at Our Lady of the Sea.
• Eternal Father – Navy Hymn sung by the An-O-Chords.
• Blessing of Mariners and fleet by Fr. Marion, OSB, pastor of St. Mary.
• 12:30pm – Return icon to Croatian Cultural Center located at 801 5th St. in Anacortes WA. Children to meet with St. Nicholas and be gifted with tangerines and chocolate gold coins. Listen to the story of St. Nicholas as narrated by Michael Petrish, and then enjoy a no-host luncheon of Croatian food and seasonal pastries.

Winter Wonderland Walk at Washington Park (Free!)
Come out to Washington Park and enjoy a nice walk through the Wonderland Walk At Washington Park event. Local service groups, clubs, businesses and families sign up to decorate campsites with festive lights and holiday cheer. This is a FREE community event and we encourage you to come on out to this popular event. We recommend that you bring your own flashlight or headlamp to help guide your way

December 9th & 10th
Fidalgo DanceWorks presents The Nutcracker Ballet ($12-$17)Anacortes Coastal Christmas Ornament
The annual tradition of our breathtaking Nutcracker will perform December 10 and 11 at Brodniak Hall.

December 13th
Celtic Christmas Celebration
The Port of Anacortes presents the 6th Annual Celtic Christmas Celebration. Featuring Geoffrey Castle and his All Star Band. With special guests from the Seattle Irish Dance Company, and from the Seattle Opera Pamela Castella & Veronica Castella-Nim, plus Town Crier Richard Riddell and a visit from Santa Claus.
